Features of Damask Rose Oil & Rose Water

Feature 1: Cultivated and Extracted on Contracted Farms

Ginza Tomato’s rose oil and rose water are made exclusively from Damask roses cultivated on contracted farms and extracted in-house. Located near Turia Village, just south of the Kazanlak region at the heart of the Rose Valley, these partner estates span an impressive 82 hectares dedicated entirely to rose cultivation. When the rose and herb fields burst into full bloom, they create a breathtakingly beautiful landscape that is truly a sight to behold.

Feature 2: The Steam Distillation Method

Ginza Tomato’s rose oil and rose water are produced via steam distillation using fresh, hand-picked rose petals. Because our partner farmers handle both cultivation and extraction directly on-site, the petals can be processed immediately at peak freshness, resulting in a remarkably vibrant, sweet-scented rose oil. Our production method combines time-honored traditional techniques with state-of-the-art facilities and strict quality control to achieve the highest possible standard.

Rose oil extracted through this traditional steam distillation process is known as ‘Rose Otto.’ Unlike ‘Rose Absolute’—which is obtained via chemical solvent extraction—Rose Otto is nearly colorless and clear, characterized by its gentle, elegant aroma. Additionally, because we use the steam distillation method, pure rose water is naturally captured

Feature 3: Organic Certification

Ginza Tomato’s rose oil and rose water are organic certified products, cultivated by contracted farmers in Bulgaria’s famous “Valley of Roses.” Following a rigorous inspection period of over three years, both the farmland and the processed products have achieved certification under the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) National Organic Program.

Production Method of Damask Rose Oil and Rose Water

From May to June in Bulgaria’s “Valley of Roses,” hand-picked roses are harvested at dawn and immediately processed while fresh. Using a traditional steam distillation method, the roses are steamed, and the resulting vapor is collected. Through a natural separation process, the top layer yields precious rose oil, while the remaining aqueous solution becomes rose water.

Our contracted farmers manage everything from cultivation to extraction in a seamless, integrated process. Because the oil is extracted while the flowers are at their peak freshness, it retains an incredibly vibrant, sweet aroma. By combining centuries-old techniques with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and rigorous quality control, we continuously pursue the ultimate production method.

The Origin Story of Damask Rose Oil & Rose Water

Not only is the Damask rose excellent as the primary source material for botanical placenta extract, but its exquisite fragrance has also made it a staple for producing rose oil and rose water since ancient times. To fully deliver the profound power of the rose, Ginza Tomato offers the flower in its entirety—providing not only Damask rose placenta extract, but also rose oil, rose water, rose petals (dried), and rose buds (dried).
